‘Ode to Whataburger’ By Texas Slam Poet Goes Viral [WATCH]
I first entered Texas in 1966 as a young Mormon missionary. I grew up in a small town of 400 residents in Idaho and never saw a McDonalds until I went to Provo, Utah to study Spanish for my preaching duties. Never saw a Denny’s until Texas … never saw lots of businesses.
Heck, when I went to college in Pocatello in 1964 I walked into an Albertsons and was astonished by coolers with tall glass doors.
But my fast-food ultimate was love at first site the moment I walked into a Whataburger in San Antonio, January, 1966.
