Mr. Trump is more isolated than he seems to realize. He can keep going to the same dysfunctional well of a voter base that -with the exception of a loud, ignorant and uninformed voice – will not be able to carry him out of legal harm’s way. In truth, that voter base long ago lost its own credibility and – if anything – has demonstrated an even dumber perception of reality than that of their icon with his buffoonery’s tragic consequences for the rest of us.
“I didn’t need to do this,” Trump declared – a central admission in which he further explained that he just wanted his wall, which Congress has repeatedly and in a bipartisan manner refused to fund, “faster” than the legislative process will allow.
