If you are a believer, be grown up about it if you can. You have no obligation to accept anyone else’s portrayal of Divinity. It does not matter how long someone else’s portrayal has lived in family or community. How you experience and define the Divine is up to you and no one else.

If folks like Robertson here presume to tell you the mind of God, fire him as a holier-than-thou middle man.

Then you can – and I’m not kidding- give that particular version of “God” the pink slip. You might be amazed at how empowering your decision to take action can be.
