I threw so many folks for a loop last year when I discussed the voice in a video. I used my “training” as a former Evangelical, a Southern Baptist, to describe the breathy cadence and the soft, child-like high pitch. Folks outside of Fundamentalist culture had never heard the term—they just knew the voice made them uncomfortable.
I know that voice well…in fact I can’t shake it myself. It was engrained in every woman I knew from church and every time I speak about it, folks will point out that I sound that way myself. Yes, friends. That’s the point.
Be sweet. Obey. Prove it by speaking in muted tones.

Trump:
“Has there ever been a worse host than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous. Blah. Blah. Blah. Make America Great Again.”

It started on March 8, when Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) posted the following insult to social media:
“Guide for conservatives:
1. Find out what Liz Cheney would do.
2. Do the opposite.”
Two days later, Cheney hit back:
“Here you are on 1/6 explaining that Trump’s plan to seize power was illegal,” the ex-lawmaker wrote, linking to his own past statement. “It’s sad you’ve abandoned what you know is true.”
She then said, “You should take a break from spreading lunacy to read these remarks by Dallin Oaks,” and linked to a speech from the Mormon president. Lee is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The remarks are focused on the importance of the Constitution.
“I testify of the divinely inspired Constitution of the United States and pray that we who recognize the Divine Being who inspired it will always uphold and defend its great principles. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen,” Oaks wrote.
In response to Cheney’s message, a former conservative Republican wrote, “Liz Cheney is taking Mike Lee to Church…..sending him a talk from an LDS General Authority about the need to defend the Constitution.”
“I hope Mike reads it,” the user wrote. “Then maybe he can read Alma 2 and remember that the bad guys are the ones who tried to overthrow democracy.”

A top Republican state lawmaker is touting what he suggests are the off-label benefits of aspirin: as a contraceptive, if used as he directs.
“Bayer Company invented aspirin. Put it between your knees,” Arizona state Senate Majority Leader Sonny Borrelli, a far-right Republican who has promoted false election fraud claims, told the Arizona Mirror, as Heartland Signal reports.

While I disagree with Liz Cheney on most everything political and I absolutely despise her father, I have great admiration for her honesty and loyalty. If you read her book “Oath and Honor” with an open mind you will surely understand the Republican Party has perpetrated a criminal fraud on the people of the United States. You will come away demanding that all the sycophants and enablers are prosecuted, tried, convicted, and locked up for a long time. The Mike Lee’s and Jim Jordan’s included. You will realize that who holds office is of utmost importance, and that voting is the most critical action a citizen does in a democracy.
